My father was fifty five years old, he was married to my mother for thirty two years. He died a slow death of cancer. Mom was constantly by his side to the very end. He died in her arms at home at 3 a.m. Dad had an old truck that he restored and loved. He worked hard all of his life, raised four children. We spent most of our lives growing up in the country. My grandmother was ninety two when she passed away in a senior living facility. Her husband (my grandfather) passed away many decades ago. She never remarried. She never drove an automobile. She had seven children and a total of 66 offspring. My grandparents lived in the country, grew their own food, milked their own cows etc… She lived their only a few months after he passed but seemed to keep up the farm ok until her children moved her into town.
